Q. I'm under 25, can I still rent a car? A. Most car rental companies have a minimum age restriction of 25 years with the driver having a major credit card in his or her name. Some car companies will allow 21-24 year olds to rent cars, but there is an additional surcharge involved. Drivers in this age range must also have a major credit card in their name. For further details please contact the rental company direct before making any booking. Q. I want an all-in price including insurance and taxes, can I find out what the total cost will be? A. As taxes and insurance vary widely both by location and rental company, it is only possible to provide full details of these once your booking has been processed. Make your booking in the normal way and on the booking form request that your booking be handled by a 'live agent'. You will then be contacted and can request a total price. You can easily cancel the booking if you are not happy with the overall price. Q. Your rates are cheaper than I've been quoted by the rental company direct. How is this possible? A. As our bookings are processed centrally we use services able to negotiate large discounts with the rental companies and we can pass these savings on to our customers. Q. I want to drive the car from one country to another, can I do this? A. Sorry, most rental companies don't allow cross border rentals. Q. I want to pick up a car in one location and drop it off at another. Can I do this? A. One-way rentals within a country are only available from certain rental companies and certain pick-up locations. If one-way rentals are available this is shown on the Rental Rules page during the booking process. Please note that some rental companies do charge an additional drop-off fee for one-way rentals. Q. I want a certain make and model of vehicle. Can I specify this? A. The make and model is determined by availability at your pick-up depot, so it is not normally possible to specify this at the time of booking. One rental company may use Ford vehicles, another may use Nissan but the models available may change at different depots. Q. I'm a little concerned about Internet security. Do I have to provide details of my credit card over the Net to make a booking? A. Our servers use the latest 128 bit encryption technology so your card details are secure at all times. You do need to provide card details but don't worry, your card will not be charged until you pick up the car. It is just used as a hold number. However, if you don't cancel your reservation and don't show up, your card may be charged. So, it's very important to cancel any reservations that are not required. Q. How do I know my car will be waiting for me to pick up? A. On completion of your booking you will be emailed a confirmation number. This is supplied by the relevant rental company and can normally be used to check your booking with any branch of the company you've selected. Q. How do I know I'm dealing with a reputable company?
